Right now, we just want to provide a better place for Diego, Gabby, Anna Paola and Luca. Your donations will help us accomplish that goal. Thank you.
When I moved to Mexico to live with my wife Maricarmen (Mari) I knew that I wanted to serve God and that I wanted to help those in need, but I didn't know how. With Mari and I both working full time and homeschooling my two daughters Christi and Rachel we didn't seem to have a lot of extra time, we also weren't sure what to do. We brought some clothes to an orphanage, gave blankets and food to a few strangers, and that was about the extent of it. Honestly it didn't feel like we were making much of a difference.
I was determined to do more, not for any recognition, but because I have a belief that we all have both the potential and responsibility to make a positive impact in the world. The words of the Bible resounded in my head, Love the Lord thy God, Love thy neighbor as thyself, minister unto widows and orphans in their affliction, give food to the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, visit those who are sick and in prison, and everything you do in word or in deed do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Mari and I talked it over and decided to find one person who we could help by providing food and other supplies on a regular basis. We wanted to be able to establish a relationship with this person, have them into our home and encourage them with the word of God. This person also had to be willing to receive our help. We thought we would find someone miles away from our home but instead we found someone right where we were living, our maintenance man, Chuy.
Chuy became a friend and helped us as much or more than we helped him. He introduced us to many others who were in need and went with us to visit them, praying with them and encouraging them also to trust in God. That was two years ago, since then we have fixed leaky roofs, helped provide for families who have lost their homes in fires, and prayed for those who are struggling with illness, pain, depression, and grief. We managed to do this with almost no funds donated to our cause, although we did receive a lot of clothes, blankets and some other goods.
With your help we can make a bigger difference. With your help we can grow our ministry to bring food, needed supplies, adequate housing, and the Word of God into more homes in Tijuana. Even with a very small monthly donation you would be helping us in a very meaningful way.
As more people ask for us to help them we've found that we aren't able to supply the need on our own. And I don't think we are supposed to. Here is a chance for us to come together as a community of believers and say we are going to make a difference, and we are going to do it in Jesus name giving thanks to God for everything. God is able to do all things that we ask or imagine, and He is able to supply all our needs. In Christian faith, set aside a portion of your income for your community as well. Find someone near you who could use the help and decide to share the love of Christ with them in the ways that God has encouraged us to do in His Word. Read the Bible daily and share the Word of God with those whose lives you touch. Taking small steps in the right direction will eventually place you right where you need to be to make a big difference in the world around you. Thank you for your support and may God bless you in His own way.
In Christian faith,
